February Snow

Jackson and Ellee's Cousin, Parker, came over to play in the snow we got in February this year. The kids had a blast, sledding, making snowballs and even eating the snow, for some:) February's average temperature this year was 39 degrees...it was pretty cold for us, so I'm glad we're in the home stretch for Spring!

Block Pictures

I recently made these block pictures for Grandma McGowan's Birthday with the help of Shawn of course. (I don't know how to use his saw).

I really wish I had taken pictures along the way to show you how I did it, but lucky for you, I read how to on another blog. All ideas I owe to I heart naptime. (Very informative)

I don't have a cricuit or Silhouette, so that was a REAL Hassel. I had to cut out each vinyl letter and press them on seperately that I got at a local scrapbook store. (Had to buy two sets of letters since there weren't enough s's in one set). I think it was worth it though to get somewhat of the same look. Just recently discovered distress ink as well (from reading other's blogs) LOVE that stuff...it's around the edges.
I'm thinking I may attempt more for my Mom for Mother's Day.....We'll see!

Ellee & Mommy Date

My Sister-in-Law, Tina, and I took the kids to see the play, "Cinderella" in Sumner. Jackson didn't want to go, but Ellee sure did when she heard which play! She LOVES Cinderella right now. After, the kids were able to meet the Characters in the play. Ellee went right along with it and truly thought this was Cinderella and her Prince.

Conversations with Ellee....

The other day bringing Ellee home from the babysitter's house we had an interesting conversation.
Me: "Ellee, did you run away from Amy today?"
Ellee: "I was doing Hotch Squatch."
Me: "Did you listen to Amy though?"
Ellee: "It was an accident."
Me: "I'm not talking about when you peed your pants today."
Ellee: "Did I say that?"
What just happened? I think she made me forget the whole point of the conversation in the first place!!!
Ellee's recent words:
Gradulations.......Congratulations
Hotch Squatch.....Hop Scotch
Jackson's recent word:
Growhog.....Groundhog

Valentine Treats

I made the Fam heart shaped rice crispy treats....what a fun, sticky, yummy mess!

Some of the treats and Jackson's mailbox he decorated.

100th Day of Kindergarten!

I absolutely LOVE Jackson's way of sounding out words and spelling. He had this assignment for homework. The last question asks, I chose these items because....Jackson's response: I like to spin pennies. I wasn't even sure what he was writing, but apparently he had a real reason for why he wanted to count out 100 pennies for his 100th day of Kindergarten!

Valentines and Art

Ellee was very excited to work on her Valentine's this year! She picked out Princess cards that even included a magnet. Here she is writing her "name" on each of the cards she was giving in Preschool.

Ellee's Valentine mouse she made in Preschool.
I love the whiskers and eyes!

"When they go, they go, bang, bang, bang!

My Poppie (Grandpa) used to say this when our Family would play a card game called 4 pennies and a card. Each person was dealt one card and the object of the game was to not have the highest card. If you did after trading around the table, you had to pay a penny. According to Poppie, once you lost one penny they all seemed to go quickly after. So he started the saying, "When you go, you go bang, bang, bang!" This phrase has stuck around for many years in my Family.
Now here I am relating to my little guy's teeth. He just lost his first tooth and now here he is a few weeks later with his second one gone! "When they go...."
