Lightning Basketball

We signed Jackson up for his 1st year of Basketball!

Little background:
When I first approached Jackson about playing basketball he was completely against it. To tell you the truth, it kind of bugged me. I didn't push the issue and let it go for a few days. Later I decided to talk to him about it again and asked him if he liked basketball. His response, "not really." What?!? So far, Jackson has been such a happy, go lucky kid that I haven't had to talk into things. I decided to investigate a little further....Me: "Why don't you like basketball?" Jackson: "We play it in PE at school and my partner kept passing the ball to hit me in the privates." Me: "Oh no. Did you know that's not how you play real basketball?" Jackson: "No." Me: "Real basketball players don't do that. Do you want to be on a team with some of your friends that don't play that way?" Jackson: "ok."
That simple.....
Really!

The team has a couple good, experienced, patient coaches!

Jackson had a blast at his first game. He even took a shot that circled around the rim and out, but I was still super proud! On offense he liked to dribble a little and then pass. On defense he had his arms up the entire time. He said defense was his favorite.

I'm so proud of my little guy for trying new things that may have scared, intimidated or confused him prior.

Go Lightning!

Seahawk Playoffs

Even though our Seahawks lost in the playoffs to the Bears, we still had a good time.

The kids enjoy the dressing up, cheering and getting excited with us! The mega phones were a hit this year for them as well....Little Ellee loved to yell over and over again, "punt team ready!" Too bad during this game it was the Seahawks who were always punting.

Some BIG and little Seahawk fans!

Dentist Visit

The kids had a scheduled dentist appointment today and they both did great! Jackson was excited to show the dentist that he lost his 1st tooth, I just wasn't prepared for what he told me!
He said, "Well it looks like his other bottom and top 2 middle teeth are also loose. Keep wiggling them and they should all be out in about 4-6 weeks." WHAT?!? I'm not ready for this yet. Some advice he gave me was, start taking alot of pictures....well I already got that part covered:)

Something is Missing!

Jackson came home from school the other day saying his tooth was loose. Sure enough it was. Jackson and Shawn worked on trying to pull it all night and finally got that little tooth out. Jackson was so brave and excited. Some of his cousins and friends are losing teeth, so I think he was starting to get a little envious. His cousin, Sophia, informed him to leave a note with his tooth under his pillow telling the toothfairy to leave his tooth for his baby book and show and tell at school. Well the toothfairy left it and also left a $2.00 bill.
My baby boy is growing way too fast! It seems like just yesterday those little teeth grew in!

Bitty Baby

Ellee got Bitty Baby for Christmas this year from Grandpa and Grandma McGowan. Ellee was so excited when she realized she had the same jammies as her baby. This baby's name is Hilary....alot of her babies have been named that lately. Funny that it's Hilary. The Hilary she knows is her cousin and she's 20 months already.

Make Ups

Ellee loves to sit at her vanity in her room and do her "make ups." I often find her sitting in front of the mirror just admiring herself. Well wouldn't you, if you were that cute???

Fall Family Pictures

Shawn's sister, Katie, took our Family pictures for our Christmas Card this year. We really appreciated it and are so THANKFUL for her. We went on a really (and I mean really) cold day, but had a great time regardless!

Thank You Auntie Katie!
We Love You!
